In the work takes the dependence between grid current and anode current of thyratron and value of accelerating voltage "gridcathode". Excited atoms, turning back to the ground state, radiate the light quanta. Falling into anode of thyratron, the light quanta produce photoelectric effect. When ionization potential will be achieve, positive ions neutralize the spatial charge distribution in the vicinity of cathode, promoting sharp enhancement of grid current. This facility is one of the modifications of FranckHertz experiment.
